Printer-friendly versionSend to friend

The Commission on Wartime Contracting (CWC) was established as an independent, bipartisan legislative commission to study wartime contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Created in Section 841 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008, this eight-member Commission was mandated by Congress to study federal agency contracting for the reconstruction, logistical support of coalition forces, and the performance of security functions, in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Commission was mandated to assess a number of factors related to wartime contracting, including the extent of waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement of wartime contracts. The Commission stood down on 30 September, 2011.

The CWC documentation includes all reports to the U.S. Congress, and five Special Reports.
