JCOA - Transition to Stability Operations in Iraq

The US Joint Forces Command Joint Center for Operational Analysis has released a publication titled Transition to Stability Operations in Iraq: Final Report

Below is an excerpt from the report's introduction:

US Forces–Iraq transitioned from COIN to stability operations during the period 1 January 2009 (the signing of the Security Agreement) through 31 August 2010 (the end of combat operations).

Psychological Operations (PSYOP) professionals have too long taken a cautionary approach to the counterinsurgency (COIN) operations in Afghanistan. The forces waging COIN on a daily basis; Brigade, Battalion and Company sized units deride PSYOP as the “no” man.
