Perspectives on the Iranian Nuclear Challenge
Since the severing of diplomatic relations following the 1979 Iranian revolution, U.S.-Iran relations continue to be strained. Iran's nuclear ambitions, support for terrorist groups, and its poor human rights record continue to pose ever complex challenges for U.S. policymakers.
Please join us for a panel discussion on the latest developments in Tehran's nuclear program and the implications for U.S. national security and policy options.
Achieving Durable Peace in Afghanistan
Webcast: This event will be webcast live beginning at 1:00pm EST on June 13, 2011 at www.usip.org/webcast.
Momentum is growing among international and Afghan actors to support a peace process in Afghanistan. However, ambiguities remain in the US political and military strategies, the ability of the Afghan government to successfully lead a peace process, insurgent interest in such a process, and in the interest and ability of regional actors to support a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Afghanistan Brown Bag
As part of CCO's ongoing tradition of meetings and brown bags with experts and operators recently returned from complex operations, we are fortunate to be welcoming Christian Dennys and Lisa Schirch to NDU for a meeting with interested CCO staff, and fellow researchers from other NDU centers. This meeting will take place on Monday, June 13th from 1100-1230 in a conference room to be determined.
