The event will consist of a brief introduction by Mr. Andrew Erickson, former U.S. Senior Civilian Representative for Regional Command - Southwest, followed by the presentation by Mr. O'Neill, with a question and answer period o follow.

Please join the Center for Complex Operations and members of the National Defense University for a special presentation by Mr. Michael O'Neill, Head of the Provincial Reconstruction Team and Senior NATO Civilian Representative in Afghanistan's Helmand Province. Mr. O'Neill will speak about the progress and challenges in Helmand since his arrival in October of 2010. He will also share his perspectives on the scheduled departure of coalition personnel in Afghanistan.

On November 15, the U.S. Institute of Peace will host the Washington launch of The Asia Foundation's "Afghanistan in 2011: A Survey of the Afghan People" -- the broadest, most comprehensive public opinion poll in the country. The report covers all 34 provinces, with candid data gleaned from face-to-face interviews with more than 6,000 Afghan citizens on security, corruption, women's rights, development, the economy, and negotiating with the Taliban.
